Michael J. Fox on Stem Cells

Russ Limbaugh accused Michael J. Fox of faking his symptoms in his political ads supporting candidates who favor stem cell research, including Maryland Democrat Ben Cardin. Quoting Limbaugh:
"He is exaggerating the effects of the disease. He's moving all around and shaking and it's purely an act. . . . This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox. Either he didn't take his medication or he's acting."

Russ Limbaugh is a jackass. The writhing you see is dyskinesia, a common side-effect of the medications used to treat the disease. Michael J. Fox was telling the truth when he responded to Russ Limbaugh by saying:
"I’m kinda lucky right now. It’s ironic, given some things that have been said in the last couple days, that my pills are working really well right now."

No one wants to see what Parkinsons really looks like.

Michael has to time his performances to the precise moment that his medications are most effective.

He was trying to make a point about the disease, not trying to hide it.

Too bad it turns out that he never read the bill he was helping promote.

That was a big ding on the credibility factor.

But the fact is Parkinson's is horrible.

And while there can be stem cell research done, it doesn't have to be embryonic stem cells that are used. That's what gets everyone up in an emotional whirlwind.

Stem cell research is funded.

Embryonic stem cell research is the controversial area.

And Rush Limbaugh was a jerk.

And I'm a conservative, which just goes to show you there are twits on both sides of the fence....
